About

Lyla, Age 5

Lyla was diagnosed with type one diabetes  on Valentines Day 2011, when she was only 22 months old. She is now a healthy and happy nine-year-old, but diabetes is a part of every aspect of our lives.

Over the last seven and a half years, as we have gotten to know and participate with many diabetes groups and organizations, we have been continually impressed with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Not only are they on the forefront of diabetes research and advocacy, but they provide social and emotional support to families as they adjust to a new diabetic life.

This year we are again teaming up with the JDRF for their Walk for a Cure fundraiser. Our team, “Lyla’s Little Valentines”  is back and will be walking on September 7, 2019 at the Riverwoods in Provo. The links on this website will direct you to Lyla’s team page on the JDRF website where you can donate to her team and/or register to walk with us in September. Our team fundraising goal this year is $5000.

Please help if you can — watch our video or read our story, send this website to family and friends, donate to our team, or come walk with us. Every dollar makes a difference. We are walking for a cure for diabetes . . . something we desperately need.
